The Sony VTC4 was the original high-drain battery, notably brought to public awareness by the vaping community. This cell dates as far back as 2012 and gained such popularity that its demise (Sony pulling it) was met with a high number of counterfeiters looking to profit.
Since then, some things have changed. In 2016, the VTC series is now believed to be produced by Sony in Chinese factories and the cell is still circulating on the market today
Mooch has given the Sony VTC4 a maximum vaping amps (MVA) rating of 30A. You can pulse batteries above this but it is advisable to stay within the MVA, or inline with the maximum continuous discharge rating for a safety margin in case of a device malfunction.
